Chapter 384 Meeting Minutes
Our meeting was help at McLeod Farms in McBee, SC. After lunch
President George Gooch began our meeting at 1:15 PM. Election
ballots were passed out at breakfast and turned in. The results
are as follows:
President- George Gooch
V-Pres.- Johnny Frick
Treasurer- Carol Kitchen
Secretary- Betsy Gooch
Sargent at Arms- Ray Kitchen
Ladies of the Star- Betty Garren
Charities- Judy Frick
IT Rep- Mark Davis
Congratulations to all!
Our meetings have been set for the first Saturday of each
month. Because our next month lands on a holiday weekend we
are not scheduling another meeting until the signing, however, because
there is such a long time until then, we encourage someone to put
together a ride for sometime next month before the signing.
There is no reason why a ride can’t be scheduled for a Sunday,
just keep in mind that Sunday rides will need to start around 1:30-2:00
in consideration of church attendance. Perhaps planning a ride to
an early dinner and home. If anyone has any suggestions or would
be willing to lead a ride please contact George Gooch either through
the web site or he can be reached at 518-5479.
Our signing is currently scheduled for September 23, 2006. It
will be held at The Southern Pig and a ride will follow into Sumter to
Extreme Sports, who is our sponsoring dealership. They have plans
to have a Star Day in recognition of our Chapter signing. Food
and drinks will be available, and they will be offering discounts on
some Star items.
A temporary recommendation was agreed upon, that until the beginning of
the year our raffle will be split 50/50 until funds could be raised in
the chapter account. After that time we will continue our meeting
raffle at the originally agreed upon 33/33/33, so we may begin to
accumulate funds for our chosen charities.
This month’s 50/50 was $60.00 and half of that went to Beth Donohue. Congratulations Beth and Danny.
Other meeting places were discussed. Johnny and Judy Frick went
to the Lizards Thicket on Two Notch, and they have a separate room and
would love to have us meet there on Saturday mornings. This is
not a replacement but another option.
Mark Davis has been diligently working on the look and content of our
web site, so watch for the new and improved look of the web site in the
near future.
