Blythewood Chapter 384 Saturday, May 5, 2007 Meeting Minutes Our meeting began at 9:00 am. Our president George Gooch just returned from AZ, where he personally visited the office of Star Touring. While there he picked up the Star Touring 10-year pin and has those for sale. ($10.00 ea.) Anyone interested in purchasing a pin please contact the secretary Betsy Gooch. Our last ride (4/28/07) was to Florence for their charity ride to benefit Feed the Children, from there our ride took us to The School House Restaurant in Scranton, SC., for lunch. A beautiful ride back home through the country led by George Gooch. Due to conflicting schedules Ray and Carol Kitchen have asked to step down as our Treasurer and Sargent at Arms for the Chapter. They will remain members and join our rides when they can. We will miss you both as officers in the chapter. You have been a great inspiration to us with your many ideas. Thank you for your contributions. Our president then appointed Beth Donohue as Treasurer and Danny Donohue as our Sargent at Arms. Both have agreed and those appointments will be filed with National. Thank you Danny and Beth for your support of this chapter. Saturday, May 12, 2007, Lancaster Chapter 396 is hosting a charity ride supporting Feed the Children. Our chapter will be riding up to Lancaster to support them in their efforts to raise money for Feed the Children. Meet at the Southern Pig; ride out at 10:00 am. Bike week begins Saturday May 12, 2007, in Myrtle Beach. Star Breakfast is Sat. May 19, 2007 at 9:00 am, at the Golden Corral in Myrtle Beach. We will meet at the Shell station on Spears Creek Road and I-20 at 5:30 am. We will leave for Myrtle Beach between 5:30 and 5:45 am. Spend some time at the beach and return to Columbia the same evening. Our June 2nd meeting will be at 8:00 am so that we will be able to leave on our ride to Marion, SC., by 9:00 am. Betty Garren will be leading this ride to Carolina Chocolatiers in Marion, SC. “Target Run”: Johnny Frick has devised a means by which you can win $$$ and give to our very worthy charities. Buy a target ($5.00 each) and place it anywhere on your bike. After the ride the bike with the “Bug splat” closest to the target, wins half the pot. The other half goes to either Feed the Children or to support a child to attend Camp Kemo. Please give to these worthy charities by participating. George Powell won this month’s 50/50! He generously donated his winnings to our Camp Kemo fund. Congratulations, and thank you, George. The meeting adjourned at 10:00 am. Respectfully submitted, Betsy Gooch, secretary Blythewood Chapter 384
