Blythewood Chapter 384 Saturday, July 7, 2007 Meeting Minutes The meeting began at 9:00 am in the parking lot of the Southern Pig, which is closed this week observing the July 4th holiday. Our ride today is being led by Danny and will lunch at Clarks in Santee with a stop in St. Matthews on the way and a stop at Bruster on the way home. Great weather today, although it is to be very hot. Safety tip of the day is to STAY HIDRATED drink plenty of water. Judy has again put together a great flyer with a lot of good information in it. Great work for the charities with such a small group of members. Our contributions were well received. Remember that the Feed the Children charity is now a state accumulation and SC chapters have met the level to host a truck for one of the chapter area. Our state director will let us know where the truck will be delivered so all the state chapters will be able to attend. Thank you to our entire member's statewide who have so graciously contributed. Happy Birthday to our July members, John Frick, and Ray and Carol Kitchen. Congratulation Nedra on getting your drivers license for your bike. Now you’re legal. Johnny and Judy have come up with a new fundraiser for our charities that will be a little different and fun. “Bug targets”. Buy a bug target for Five dollars and place it anywhere on your bike or body. At the lunch stop on our ride the one with the closest bug to the target will win half of the pot. The other half will go to our charities. Remember; don’t let a bug die in vain, make his life count toward our charities. Jim Ballenger, Vice President for Chapter 124 recently had surgery, he is out of the hospital and doing very well. We are pulling for you Jim. Get “riding” better real soon. The Veterans Day parade in Charleston is coming up November 11, 2007. If you are interested in participating, please contact our President George Gooch. If you are interested in seeing the pictures from last year’s parade, please contact Judy Frick. Betsy Gooch is leading our ride next month (August 4, 2007); our destination is to be announced in the near future. Welcome to our guest today, Cindy Fagan, she rides a Honda 750. Cindy was an instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation many years ago, and is now riding for the pleasure. Respectfully Submitted Betsy Gooch, secretary Blythewood Chapter 384
